Philips Wellcentive achieves NCQA certification for 2018 value-based care models
HEDIS measure set supports IHA’s pay for performance program
March 15, 2018, Alpharetta, GA – Philips Wellcentive is supporting health plan and provider organization quality reporting through its certification of new Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures administered through the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
The certification meets reporting requirements for the Integrated Healthcare Association’s (IHA) Value Based Pay for Performance (VBP4P) program. This California-based initiative combines quality, cost and resource use measures into a singular quality incentive program for healthcare delivery stakeholders statewide.
The health plan-centric administrative measures supplement existing provider HEDIS measures as IHA pursues innovative structures for value-based insurance design (VBID) and integrated care. The 24 measures range from prevention, managing chronic conditions and medication to resource utilization.
“Our certification for the IHA VBP4P program via the NCQA testing process shows our continued commitment to value-based programs and helping our customers track and report performance,” said Rasheed Baqai, Philips Wellcentive market director of solutions. “California’s performance program has been recognized as a leader and innovator in the measures used to track the right treatment for patients.”
Value-based insurance design is the intersection of personalized medicine and population health management. Philips Wellcentive’s analytics and data management solutions support several customers in this movement to provider organization and employee health plan implementation, as well as supporting ACOs, IDNs, CINs, IPAs and other delivery structures nationwide.
