Health IT LeadershipSummit Names Wellcentive “Emerging Company of the Year” Phoenix Award Winner for 2015
The Phoenix Awards are presented annually by the Metro Atlanta Chamber in conjunction with the Health IT Leadership Summit to recognize individuals and companies that have made an outstanding contribution to the growth of the health information technology industry in Georgia.
"Wellcentive is another great example of why Atlanta is the nation's health IT capital,” said David Hartnett, vice president of Economic Development for the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “Our health IT ecosystem is rapidly growing with more than 225 companies, from multi-billion dollar companies to thriving start-ups. Atlanta is the place to be."
“We are honored to accept the Health IT Leadership Summit’s award—a true testament to our entire team and their dedicated commitment to driving quality improvement, revenue growth and business transformation for healthcare organizations moving to value-based care,” said Tom Zajac, Wellcentive CEO. “We’re equally grateful to be based in the Atlanta area where we can contribute to the nation’s No. 1 growth and innovation hub for health information technology work.”
Wellcentive was founded by Paul Taylor, M.D., a practicing internal medicine physician, and Mason Beard, a seasoned healthcare information technology expert, to create solutions that would help providers manage patient populations and grow revenue in the new performance-based reimbursement paradigm. From its roots helping physicians report on quality and performance to commercial health plans and the federal government, the company has expanded to provide analytics to simplify complex data from all points of care, advancing population health management, comprehensive care management and payer collaboration in the transition to value-based care.
Wellcentive has customers in all 50 states, helping to improve outcomes for 30 million patient lives. Its clients comprise physicians, hospitals and health systems, employers and payers, including Borgess Health (Mich.), Evergreen Health (Wash.), Children’s Health Alliance (Ore.), MGM Resorts International (Nev.), CHRISTUS Health (Texas) and Delaware Valley Accountable Care Organization (Pa.).
Wellcentive was recently named as the highest-ranked vendor for customer satisfaction and client experience in the category of “Managed Care Payment/Reimbursement Solutions” by Black Book™. Wellcentive is also the only vendor to receive recognition as a leader in population health management in four analyst reports within a year in 2014.
