Dignity Health Expands Docent Health Services in Bakersfield
Boston-based company now offers robust patient support in maternity, orthopedics and cardiovascular services lines
BOSTON, Mass. – July 25, 2017—Docent Health, the leading innovator in consumer-centric healthcare experiences, today announced that Dignity Health Bakersfield Memorial Hospital will be offering Docent services to patients across three service lines – maternity, orthopedics, and cardiovascular. This expansion within the Dignity Health system follows on the successful deployments of Docent Health services at their facilities in Santa Maria and Phoenix.
Docent services enhance the patient experience by proactively offering customized support throughout a care journey. The Docent Health platform integrates with the hospital’s existing technology and curates a 360 degree ‘whole-person’ profile combining clinical with personal data. The dynamic journey engine suggests an idealized set of interactions designed to address the needs, fears and concerns of each patient. Specially trained service professionals, called Docents, interact with patients to ensure that they feel prepared, well-educated and ready to receive care, and then check in with patients after care events to insure their expectations were met. The Docent service accommodates patient preferences by offering multiple channels for communication, including text, email, chat or in-person interaction.
“We are very happy to be able to introduce Docent services to our patients,” said Ken Keller, Chief Operating Officer at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. “We believe that the Docent approach of providing personalized service to our patients is very important in building long-lasting relationships and the best possible patient care for our community.”
Rich Roth, Chief Innovation Officer for Dignity Health, added, “We are happy to see the Docent Health model evolve and address the needs of patients in cardiology, orthopedics, and maternity service lines. Dignity Health’s mission is to deliver Humankindness in every interaction, and Docent services are a great way to demonstrate to our patients that we truly listen and care about all of their needs, fears and concerns.”
“Docent Health is honored to be selected to launch our services at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital,” said Paul Roscoe, CEO of Docent Health. “Our unique approach of providing a technology platform together with a service approach enables health systems to build long-lasting relationships with their patients. We’re focused on delivering great service, and demonstrating that patients who have their needs met and have a memorable experience become loyal, lifetime customers.”
