If you work in healthcare, you’ve probably watched at least one episode of Scrubs, a sitcom from the early 2000s that followed an ensemble of doctors and staff at the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital.

If you were a fan of the show, you might remember an unusually poignant episode in which a young surgeon named Turk is determined to maintain his holiday cheer throughout a notoriously trying time for hospital staff: Christmas Eve.
