New voice capabilities launched to enhance hands-free communication experience

Fast, effective communication and how it impacts patient and staff safety is the focus of the HIMSS20 general session led by Deanna Parker, MBA, MHA, BSN, assistant vice president of emergency services at Hardin Memorial Hospital (HMH). Parker’s presentation on “Improving Communication, Patient Care and Staff Well-being” is Thursday, March 12, from 1-2 p.m. ET, in room W311A.

While at HIMSS20, Vocera will launch unique wake words to interact with the award-winning Vocera Smartbadge to provide an enhanced hands-free communication experience. Now, the simple phrase Hey Vocera” or “Ok Vocera” enables clinicians and other users to interact instantly with the wearable device without touching it. Clinicians can simply say the wake word to their Smartbadge and start communicating and collaborating completely hands-free, even while scrubbed in or wearing surgical gloves. This new feature is now available and will be showcased among other product innovations in the Vocera booth (#2959).
