The Edinburg Center Advances Evidence-Based Services Through Enhanced Netsmart Solutions

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Sept. 08, 2021 —  The Edinburg Center, a non-profit community-based services agency, advances its evidence-based services through enhanced components of the Netsmart CareFabric[sup]®[/sup] platform, creating improved clinical and financial efficiencies as they grow programs to serve through additional service lines to fulfill strategic organizational goals.

As one of the initial implementers of the NX version of myEvolv[sup]®[/sup], an ONC-certified electronic health record (EHR) for behavioral health, Edinburg has been able to leverage a next generation technology platform built for extreme usability, to drive efficient and clinician-friendly workflows. Providing easy-to-use workflows focused on clinical-user satisfaction allows providers to recruit and retain the top clinicians in the field. The Massachusetts-based, long-standing Netsmart client expanded their adoption of the Netsmart CareFabric and implemented solutions to fulfill their mission of providing evidence-based, innovative services to promote personal growth and independence, foster hope and enhance the quality of life for the individuals their organization serves.

As Edinburg has grown to serve not only adults experiencing intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges but also children and families, individuals experiencing co-occurring disorders, autism and brain injury, the integrated myEvolv platform supports real-time access to an individual’s health history and supports one common record across all care settings.

“Our Center staff has seen impactful benefits since we transitioned to NX and our clinicians acknowledge the incredible efficiency gained through streamlined workflows that allow them to spend more quality time with their clients and better address their complex needs,” said Anne Phillips, Clinical Applications Director, The Edinburg Center. “The new financial functionalities and integrated reporting tools have been a game changer for us. When COVID-19 hit we were able to automate our processes, reducing time spent on overhead functions by 50% and routinely use key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure outcomes within one intuitive platform to ultimately deliver better care.”

The partnership between Edinburg and Netsmart has yielded significant improvements across the Center’s programs and the overall user experience has increased compliance and data integrity. By adopting the latest solution available, Edinburg has reported clinician satisfaction of the user-friendly and powerful workflows, such as the new comprehensive assessment to document medical notes and evaluation, and the ability to guide users through documentation based on the context of the clinical record.

Not only is Edinburg taking advantage of the new features available in myEvolv NX, but they’ve also seen a reduction in the time and effort spend supporting the solution as a result of increased emphasis on community involvement in the design and development process to improve clinician satisfaction with existing workflows such as Feature Uplift and Re-Design, with the end user in mind and greater financial management.

The Center will soon leverage a new navigation feature that provides administrators the power to guide best practice navigating based on user type, increased compliance and data integrity via easy to access auditing tools and additional interactive home view widgets for clinicians to manage their caseloads and anticipate faster onboarding of new staff.

“By providing a solid technology platform that strengthens how care and services are delivered, we can help Edinburg deliver on its goal of meeting the specific needs for whole-person care,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “Netsmart and Edinburg have a shared strategy, to innovate services and collaborate to deliver an integrated, coordinated system of care. We’re honored to work alongside them as they seek to improve the lives of children and adults in their community.”
