Arcadia.io Accelerates Investment in Pittsburgh with New Office, 30+ Big Data Software Engineering Jobs
Leading Healthcare Analytics Company to Host AWS Meet-Up on July 24[sup]th[/sup] at 7:00 PM, Open House on July 25[sup]th[/sup] at 4:00 PM

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (July 10, 2018) – Arcadia.io officially opens its new Pittsburgh office today and announces it will accelerate investment in the region, ultimately creating over 30 software engineering jobs by the end of 2018.  A leading population health management company specializing in data aggregation, analytics, and workflow software, Arcadia searched nationally for a new location for its development office before selecting Pittsburgh due to the top engineering talent available in this healthcare hub.

“We are ecstatic to have a presence in the dynamic, innovative city of Pittsburgh,” said Sean Carroll, chief executive officer at Arcadia.  “When we decided to build a major new software development site to support our rapid growth, we wanted to invest in a city with a strong healthcare landscape and a top-notch technology community.  The engineering skills available to us in Pittsburgh are vitally important to our product roadmap and our growth strategy.”

“Pittsburgh is a city that has rapidly reinvented itself as a high-growth biomedical tech hub, and our presence here has allowed us to build an industry-leading team of experienced Big Data innovators who are applying everything they learned from making jet engines communicate in real time to solving some of the thorniest problems in healthcare,” said Arcadia chief technology officer Jonathan Cook.

Prior to opening a location in Pittsburgh, Arcadia already led the market in healthcare data integration and interoperability.  But in Pittsburgh, Arcadia was able to build an engineering team that rapidly developed a new, next-generation proprietary approach to helping healthcare systems make use of complex, massive data sets to deliver better care.  Arcadia plans to continue expanding this team throughout 2018 and has designed its new space from the ground up to support collaborative software development.

The Pittsburgh-based commercial real estate company Burns Scalo Real Estate helped Arcadia develop an office environment that would enable high-performing software teams to do their best work.  Located on the 2[sup]nd[/sup] floor of The Bentley at 965 Greentree Road, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15220, the new Class A office building is sustainably certified by Class-G.   This accreditation ensures both sustainable management and development practices throughout the entire facility.

Pittsburgh Technical Community Invited to Open House Events

Arcadia’s new office will host an open house on Wednesday July 25[sup]th[/sup], 2018 starting at 4:00 PM with a cocktail hour for Pittsburgh technical community members to network and meet Arcadia.io leaders.  At 6:00 PM, Arcadia chief executive officer Sean Carroll will introduce Arcadia’s data-driven approach to healthcare transformation.  At 6:30 PM, Arcadia vice president of product development Nick Stepro will walk through highlights from Arcadia’s Data Gallery, a collection of the team’s data visualization work.  And at 7:30 PM, chief technical officer Jonathan Cook will share more about Arcadia’s current job openings and tech stack, which processes over 2 billion records nightly for an average enterprise customer.

The evening prior to the open house, on Tuesday July 24th, 2018 Arcadia will also host the Pittsburgh Amazon Web Services (AWS) User Group meet-up from 7:00 - 9:00 PM on “Progression through Legacy Systems to AWS Elastic Map Reduce to MESOS/Data Center Operation System (DCOS)”, helping developers understand the AWS platform or expand their skill set.
